why did my graphic performace degrade?

I upgraded from a STB Velocity 4400, to an ATI AIW Radeon, and like say in 3dmark2000, the graphics will barely move on the first test, on low quality, the helicopter scene. Any ideas?

Have you completely uninstalled the previous drivers ?
What resolution are you running at ?
Are you running Win2K ? Early Radeon drivers for W2K was notoriously poor.

I completely uninstalled everything. I am on win98 SE, and i have noticed, somethings are quite noticeibly (sp?) better, but others are WAY worse. Like i was saying in 3dmark2000, some of the tests are ALOT better, and some parts of the helicopter scenes will go really smooth. And the scene in the town, i'll get from a 70 fps to a 12, instantly. I have reinstalled the drivers twice, do you think that it could possibly be from me having a PII 350? I also have 128 MB ram, i don't think the ram would matter, but the processor might.

Also, i have this one screensaver, it is called fireflower i think. If i use it with the directx option, i'm getting 22 fps at 1024x768, but if i take off directx, i'm getting really good performance (the fps is missing) but at the top of the screen, has white "snow" i guess you could call it, going across the screen. Any ideas on that one?

Hmm, your processor and memory could both use a boost, but still you should see a performance gain.

Which DirectX version are you running ?
