Anyway im stuck with this P3 for now and its giving a few headaches.

Firstoff, The computer doesnt shutdown byitself, just plain hangs there like the old computers(with the AT Power Supply)we had, waiting for me to press the shutdown button. I realized this maybe a conflict with my sound card (Creative SB LIve) so i tried some fixes that didnt work, namely to disable SB16 emulation and that didnt help. So i just decided to hell with my SB Live and just went ahead and removed the card and am using the crappy integrated sound. Any suggestions for a fix on this will be greatly appreciated.

2nd and most importatly of all. while playing half-life, actually counterstrike, my fps decreases and get this laggy feel to the game after about 10-15 minutes of playing. Its lagging that even if i turn the game off the lagging is still there. Also the game gives me error messages regarding the "Glide 2X" or something to that effect..

I hadnt experienced this problems before with my KT7Raid athlon before, so please let me know of any fixes i need to do.

Heres my system specs:

P3 1 gig
Intel 815EP chipset motherbotherboard
Integrated sound
Voodoo 3 3000
Adaptec 2940
Hollywood PLus Decoder
Intel 10/100 Nic

Im using the following USB devices as well:
Printer, mouse, Card reader

Thanks in advance!

I don't know, but I just bought an Athlon and couldn't be happier.

Anyway what operating system do you use because I had a lot of problems with my Hollywood plus and win2000 when I had a P3.

The only way I got round it was to remove it which magically solved all of the problems.

I had the same problem with my P3 today on my ASUS Board, actually on my other ASUS board too! Look through the manual for the MOBO for sharing of the PCI cards. it should give a chart of what is shared with what. so look for which slot is not sharing anything and try it out. When the mobo boots up look for the list of IRQs and see if any are conflicting. If they are then %#%$! then pull it out and try another one. I know what your going through, I just went through a mobo change today and almost fired my monitor out the window! I swear mobo makers are going backwards MAN!! I remember pulling and installing cards in my 486DX!!! CARAMBA!!!!!!!!
By the way this is my first post here!! NOW IM NOT A VIRGIN!!!! YIPPIEE!!!:D

Another thing to do is right-click "My Computer" icon and click properties. Click the "Device Manager" tab and double-click the top "Computer" icon in the list. Check the IRQ's if there are too many shared IRQ's HERE and you are SURE that they are wrong from your BIOS setup then find the wrong ones in the "Device Manager" and right-click and remove them. Then reboot, and they will be found and reinstalled hopefully like my computer they will change to thier proper IRQ. USE THIS AS A LAST RESORT!! Also make sure plug and play OS is disabled in the BIOS. I know you're gonna call me a "monkey spank!," but download all drivers for everything and put them in a folder and update everything if they are not. Some old drivers, especially Creative, dont support IRQ sharing.
OK!!
I hope thihs helps man!
Good Luck! You'll get it workn' perfect keep tryin'
As for your slow down, which I had while playing Colin Mcrae 2, is most likely IRQ conflics again. If you dont use your Com ports disable them. Anything your not using Disable in the BIOS. This will free IRQs up. You prob. already know that.
Last but not least BIOS upgrade, install the intel inf. chipset driver, and UltraATA Storage driver!! (http://developer.intel.com/design/software/drivers/platform/)
If none of this works take the MOBO out and use it as target practice!
