kingston ssd v300 passed WDlifeguard tools short and extended tests.

but when i tried to hit the drive with 1's and 0's across the ENTIRE drive, it just gave me errors.

so i filled out the kingston RMA form, and guess what, we have to play with them in a long and pathetic follow-up routine, because they have the RMA team e-mail us again... for receipt and number codes on the SSD...
yes, like e-mail "tag" ... it's annoying ...

so when i went onto newegg's website, i'm like, oh look, an extra warranty service i purchased!
and then this is what they give me...
i can't even use it "yet", and by the time, i try to, the drive will already be mostly junk compared to what will be out in 2016.
don't get me wrong, the v300 is a slow piece of junk. i just went with it because of the "good" reviews back then.

oh well, guess i better suck it up and learn the hard way about certain crappy SSD's and 'useless' replacement plans on fast aging tech products...

It seems the issue is that OP wants to use Newegg's extended warranty now, instead of the manufacturer's warranty that still applies.

I think Newegg's coverage specifically explains, when you get it, that it applies *after* the manufacturer's warranty, but I haven't read the fine print.

Though it would be nice to use Newegg's right now, I think the only way theirs could reasonably be offered is if it were limited this way. If it applied immediately and totally replaced the manufacturer's warranty, it would be unsustainable or it would cost orders of magnitude more. The only reason that Newegg's coverage is affordable right now is specifically because it kicks in after the manufacturer warranty.

I inferred that as well. The part that has me flummoxed is

Are we talking about secure erase, being unable to write to the entire drive or, what? What errors are received? Methinks the OP doesn't realize that as loud as the voices are in his head, we can't hear them.
