Why did i get denied for an Amazon CC?

Could it be that ive lived in three different addresses in the past 2 years?

they will send you something in the mail saying why you were denied.

you're now entitled to a copy of your credit report, call or write to the number or address they give you in the denial letter

its not just score they use to determine their decision...a lot of it is debt/income ratio

sounds like me sorta..

i signed up for a chase cash plus rewards visa card and got a measly $500 credit limit.

i only have 2 other cards, with a combined total of $8000 in credit only, of which, i have about $3000 charged to.

I was alittle worried so i ran experian credit check.. i dont know how close to a FICO score is, but i got a 767 out of a maximum of 830, which they say is excellent credit.

im waiting on my equifax FICO score (website is having problems) to make sure things are kosher..

Ehh...

I have had a BofA CC ($600 line) since 10/04 and I have always paid on time and I spend a lot (parents tell me to pay for their shopping using my CC).

Got a 2nd card (AMEX w/ $8k line) in April for Costco spending and then a 3rd card in June (BoA cashback VISA with 9.4k line). Always paid on time. Got denied in August for a Citibank 5% card cuz I applied to too many cards too recently =(.

My FICO score was 726 as of July 05. Cost me like $5

litte tip i learned recently. If you don't want to get your credit rating ding for applying on too many cc, do it within 15 days of each other. It will only count as 1 time in your credit rating with is approximately -5.

edit: spelling.

Hmm, Amazon/Chase approved me for a 2000 credit line. At 15.3% interest. My credit score was 687 as of July 05.

I tried on a couple of occasions to apply but I can't move forward in the application. I am retired and can't give a phone number for my employer. The software won't let me move on.

Dumb, right?

Dumber than you not putting your cell or home number? Doubtful.

You'll get a list of reasons, but likely due to "Insufficient length of time of established accounts."

Well, Chase (Amazon CC) doesn't pull your Equifax or Experian report. They pull Trans union. Chase is known to issue cards with toy limits.

Not worth the effort. I'd probably never use it anyway.

That is not true.
Each account will count towards lowering your score.

Yup each one will be a different inquiry, but since the information doesn't update instantly, you should apply for a bunch at once to increase your chances instead over a longer period as each time you get declined it gets further dinged...
