Well I started the old htpc back up to record football games.Its running vista 64 with WMC had w7 but issues so doing a test to troubleshoot.I'm using dish nestwork 322 reciever which is Standard Definition and using a s-video cable for video out which goes to my tv tuner from there comes out on HDMI using a converter box to a wireless hdmi box (Actiontec wirelss HD) to TV.
Strangely certain channels will give a Copying Prohibited error while trying to watch.I thought HDCP is only on HD channels and thru HDMI?Is this even possibly?I did notice one channel was the SyFy channel and at the time was playing a movie and got this message and later on after the movie was able to watch a tv show without a issue.
Now, I'm not recording but guess since it does place it on hd in since I'm recording and that's what caused this message but why/how on SD?
Now I did record from channel 5 atlanta a football game last weekend without a issue...
