It IS illegal where I live. :) Noise ordinances on top of heavily-regulated time slots for construction during a day.

im not overly annoyed because im also singing along wtih whatever music im listening to, but if i were in panic mode (i.e. no music + no computer + no forums while studying) then I would be pretty fvcking pissed...

part of me wants to go drive out and find otu who it is, but i'm just lazy...

maybe i should just go to sleep since im not really studying anyways

You're not using your brain.

Look up the non-emergency phone number for your local authorities. Any phone book will have it in the first few pages of the book. You should also be able to find it online. Just call them and report that someone's doing construction at 2 in the freaking morning and that you can't sleep. They'll ask a few clarifying questions to find out where to send the cruiser, then you're off the phone and you'll have silence in a few minutes. :)

I had this happen to me when I was living in an apartment complex not far from campus. Supposively they work at night to avoid the traffic they would get during the day.

I guess college campus is different from residential areas. Call the cops.

I run a Honeywell air cleaner in my room. It takes something VERY loud to wake me up.

White noise is a good thing for sleep.

Most night construction is done because an important road has to be completely closed to traffic totally...

so its either keep you up all night, or close the only road, and you cant get to work in the morning.

I know how you feel. I lived next to the Wilson Bridge for a year.

No, driving a block or two to find out what's causing the noise is lazy, thinking about driving a block or two, but dimissing it because it's too much work is just plain pathetic.

I'm sweaty and winded just thinking about it. :(
