I never see the old threads bumped because I have my preferences set so that they don't show up again. I cannot recall how I set them since that was long ago, but it can be done. All I see are the latest, non-bumped. Check your settings.
 
Go to profile, then personal options, then scroll down to where it says "Would you like to see the most recent Replied To topic at the top?" and check No. Voila, threads are now sorted in order by original posting date. It's too bad this isn't an option on the thread view, since I'd like to be able to switch back and forth quickly.

Because maybe the people that jumped on the original deal would like to know that an additional rebate just popped up that makes the deal even hotter or that there was a new firmware/software release that now makes their hotdeal a functional hotdeal...

And seeing it in the top 25 threads one day is better than having to subscribe to each one of the x number of hotdeals they pulled the trigger on...

Or maybe so that more than one person can see a deal before it get shuffled to the bottom of the deck by non-HotDeal posts like this one...

No question LSU was the lone #1 team. USC had a solid team but was hyped by the media .

I thought you were supporting the poor Detroit Tigers. I thought you were all brave backing such a downtrodden organization with "almost the record" for losses for a season in 2003. Hence the comment about Pudge as in Rodriquez.
