It's usually becasue my legs are up on the desk, and I have to reach under the desk to the keyboard tray to type. This causes many errors, and is not worth the effort to fix. Besides, its just a message board, it's not like we're handing this in as our final essay, or a letter to our boss. As long as you get the general idea, I don't see the harm.

For "normal" posts I use good English, but I've been known to use "yu0" and "teh" when appropriate.

but it really gets me that not many people seem to know the difference between

YOUR and YOU'RE....

I can't spell for sh|t. My handwriting is completely illegible, but damn it, since I'm on a forkin' computer with spell check available, I'm gonna use it!

I cringe at many of the post from our resident college students here. Unflippinbelievable! Too much trouble to use capitalization, punctuation and spell check, yet they're gonna get their two cents in, no matter how retarded the post looks! I'd LOVE to see the work their professors have to grade.

how could it hurt your ears? when ppl say those words, they sound the same. only when you see it misspelled different, then it hurts your eyes.

Why bother? I make spelling errors all the time when posting but I never go back to fix it. Most of us don't proof read what we just wrote so half of what we write makes little sense with tons of grammatical errors.

english is a stupid language and I learned to spell the way words sounded. Then they introduced all of these rules and I just forgot them.
