Why can't WinME be upgraded to Win2k?

I just found out about this today; confirmed it on MS's website; WinME can not be upgraded to Win2k. Why is this?

Something to do with incompatible directory structures, beyond that I don't remember. Considering what crap Me is, I wouldn't want any remnants of it on my system if I was upgrading.

ME came out after 2k so you cant upgrade that direction.

Funny... I worked on a laptop just the other day that was upgraded from WinME... of course, I have to agree with the previous statement about WinME:
