Why can't we have custom icons?

I do realize this is a computer hardware forum, but sometimes it's a little uptight.

Adding some additional icons is all I need. Cookie, llama, blender, goat, pizza box, maybe even a couple more christmas icons too.

Edit: Why not add inline images as well? Then everyone could have an 800x600 picture of their car in their sig.

It'll take away the sleek professional look of AT. That's why I was quite happy when they removed the coloured fonts

In theory they could do it for a fee. Charge say $5 every time you wanted a new custom avatar. Pay a contractor $2 per avatar to screen them, $2.50 for bandwith and 50 cents for processing fees.

Problem is if an icon is rejected do they make the person pay another $2 to submit a new icon, lose the $2, or does the contractor rescreen for free.
Probably a ton of other problems too.
It'll never happen. Too many problems for a "family" forum.

 

Because everyone would have an animated gif of some girls breasts jiggling and it would be embarrasing. Check out any other forum to see what I mean.

yeah, those forums often also allow images in signatures... it's horrible
