Why Can't this HOT system finish the 3DMARK2001 Benchmark without "Running out of memory"???

When the Benchmark quits after the "pixel fill test 2" (the test after the "nature scene"), I get the following message in a small window...

HELP!!! What could it be???

Vcache in the system.ini file was "blank" and then I changed Vcache to 128000 min and 128000 max... Didn't help... BTW, what should these be set to when one has 512 Megs of RAM???
