Why can't the Pontiac GTO look more like this?

This car looks so badass!!! It actually looks too "American" to be a European car. Definately better looking than most Japanese sports coupes too...I could really see this selling over here.

Too bad Rover had to go out of business. But alas, Shanghai Automotive now owns all the IP pertaining to Rover's and MG's designs. They bought it so they can sell Rover knockoffs in Europe to consumers who are afraid of buying a Chinese car. Shanghai Automotive also operates a joint-venture with GM, which requires both companies to share certain technologies/assets. Well, I for one would like to see the next Monaro/GTO look more like an XPower SV and less like a Sunfire!

Meh, get rid of that crossbar and its your typical Pontiac/(BMW?) double-kidney grille!

Well it is too "riced" for a lot of people and also the numerous useless grills won't be viewed positively to those same anti ricers.
Also, the American car companys are on the retro/older style bandwagon right now for some reason. I don't really like the old retro looks as a lot of them look more like plastic crap then authentic oldie styles.
I'd take that MG and keep it if it wasn't so unreliable. :)

that has too much detail to be an american car. American cars are just suppose to be big and ugly.

Looks horrible. I would rather have a Goat. Subtle understated European styling, with a hint of muscle.

Top Gear reviewed the really poweful one. Apparently its a very tough car to drive at the limit, tends to snap around.

they were going to make a all new GTO with much much more aggressive styling for '08 or '09, but GM decided to go with the new Camaro for '08 or '09 and they are going to stop production of the GTO all together in a year or two.

however, with Chevy making the new Camaro, here's hoping that Pontiac gets a new Firebird!

EDIT: and btw, i agree with who ever said that the car you linked to looks like a Dodge....but it still looks cool!

Looks like a '90s Dodge. Dated styling, way overstated.

that thing is hideous, please leave the GTO the way it is...here's a tip kid, git some riced out body kit for a civic and be done with it.

Chrysler's already got that covered, with another to follow. Neither looks like any kind of GTO.

I'd rather they built one that looked like this, and called it... oh, I don't know... a Cobra?
