Why cant search work right?

I click on search this forum or even advanced search and when i type in a keyword it does not show recent first its all over the place.

I want recent to oldest but it doesnt work.

Works fine here. I use it all the time to get fixes to problems before posting a thread. Prefer to do it that way.

Since the switch to vBulletin, the search has been greatly improved, but today, after the site was down, search was about as bad as it had been with FuseTalk. Lots of threads...all of them wrong. <shrug>

lol I do that trick all the time for forum search especially on forums without any search.

While I did manage to find this post by searching 😛 I get this problem a lot, most especially in the FS/T forums. Like today I searched for "Wii" in FS/T through both the quick and advanced searches and had these results. They're close, but there's results from "Today" and "Yesterday" as far back as page 4 and many others out of order.

I actually tried the advanced search to sort by 'ascending' as well and it didn't work either. It only made it up to like 2008 but they were clearly out of order as well.

I've never seen a vb forum where the quick search is worth a damn.
