Why can't people think for themselves?

Why must people say they belong to a political party whether Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative and follow everything that party stands for? By affiliating yourselves, you've simply admit to people that you have no thought of your own. Instead, why don't people decide whether something is right or wrong based on their own judgement?

When you see Democrats bashing the President on TV, it's their job as a politician to do so. They need to make the opposing party look as bad as possible in order to receive more votes when its time to go to the polls. People need to see pass this and make their own decisions based on their own logic whether the President is doing right or wrong instead of bashing him for everything under the sun simply because he belongs to the opposing party. Is Bill Clinton that much better?

Edit. spelling :)

it's that schoolyard mentality, it's bred into people from the earliest age, you know, the cool group, the nerds, the jocks. Humans have an incessant need to be classified. to bad we can't be more like dogs and just lick our balls wherever we please.

Schoolyard mentality huh? From some of the ways people reply to any opposing views, I totally agree.

Speak for yourself.

Many here including myself pledge no allegiance to a particular party.

In fact other than those that would die for the Republican party most against the establishment in control do not like not only that establishment but do not like the Democatic party either.

How can you talk when you would clearly die for the Republicans and not even in America???
What?...Why do you think i endorse the Republican party?...just because I don't agree with your whacky views?...*Newsflash* most Democrats think you have whacky views.

I am willing to discuss the issues with you, but you are never reasonable enough to do so.

I think also people are just too damn lazy to actually research issues and make their own opinions. It's much easier for them to be spoon-fed whatever drivel gets to their ears first.

Oh yes? What was that? oh it was socialism, communism and facism.

Add to that "Will to Power" and we have quite a conundrum.

Here is a man who thought for himself and saved the world from imminent nuclear war in 1983, Stanislav Petrov in the Soviet Union of all places going against communist party military doctrine and because of that he was found unreliable and booted from the military.:Q

Too bad there are very few people like him in important positions today.:(

ALL HAIL GEORGE W BUSH!!!

Does it ever register in your little brain (I don't mean you personally, I mean all of you who come and post your incessant whining about everyone who doesn't bow down and kiss Bush's ass) that maybe they have made up their own mind and that JUST POSSIBLY it doesn't agree with YOUR OPINION?

Oh but again, I forget, anyone who doesn't worship Bush is an anti-American terrorist who should get the hell out of the country if "they don't like it"

That is why I am independent... Only the weak would choose a political party...

I am critical of Bush for his failures- Iraq war, cronyism/corruption, ignoring the health care problem, a failed social security proposal, the dubai ports, the fact that he has done nothing to lessen frivilous lawsuits(he said he would),. etc etc etc. I was/am critical of Clinton for his failures as well. Clinton, however, is no longer president.

News flash... being an Independent is being in a political party, genius. Not only that but your strong Independents have won how many national elections? So the weak won EVERY national election eh? Whatever, your line of thinking is seriously flawed.

I'm sure you know he meant independent as in independent thinking. Why must you pick a fight with someone or are you really that dumb?

There are no issues if you disagree with Bush based on sound principals, but from what I see, most bashing are baseless irrational ramblings.

Really, that's what he meant? So then he is esentially saying there are no independent thinkers in a political party? Either way you come of as dumb here. I suggest you relax, pull your head out of my ass and stop trying to help your brother.

Well, you have to vote for a cantidate on the ballot.
I know better than to check the Republican or Democrat, but in some states thats all you might see.

Some states allow you to pencil in who you like, but its not realistic for them to win.

Of course, many, many americans think there are only two parties.
So we are fvcked.

Good job Mr. Bulletin Board Samaritan. Maybe you'll get the honor badge soon. Only problem is you interjected more idiocy into an already idiotic statement. Didn't need you to give your "add" in.

Out of curiousity why would you ask the question you did? It's called human behavior, and in a sense collective power.

You may have well asked why we feel love. You'll send up with the same conclusion, it's over your head.

This is what happens when I do a run by on dmcowen. Oh well it was worth it.

My point is, even though there are only two parties to choose from, we can still use our own judgement to pick who is best for the job instead of the person that belong to a certain party affiliation.
