I'm selling my old cell phone on ebay. It clearly lists that I will only ship to the US, and do not accept credit cards.

I've gotten like a dozen emails asking if I'll ship to India and if I'll take credit cards.

Doulbe-U tee eff man?

This is the worst one:

"I am intrested in this item to be shipped to New Delhi, India. If you are intrested kindly let me know the shipping cost. I will prefer paying thru Credit Card(Paypal). Also let me know whether the item includes any accessories or handfree kit or other accesories. Is the handset UNLOCKED i.e, can I use it with any other network in asia. Is the phone brand new?"
1) I don't accept credit cards.
2) I listed and pictured what it comes with.
3) I said its unlocked.
4) I said it's used.

lol

I politely replied through the auction so the person couldn't get my email address.

Last time I replied through email to a stupid question like that, I was spammed like crazy.

jagec: you sound like a Farker 🙂

As an international buyer it never hurts to ask, they worst they'll do is yell at you (can never understand why people can't be civil more often). A lot of sellers will default to US/no CC but once you talk to them many are willing to accomodate.

When I was studying abroad in Denmark I bought some stuff that way, I would email sellers even if they had US only asking if they would consider shipping to Denmark, I got a reply maybe 50% of the time and about half of them were willing to ship to me. It just goes to show that a little effort in communication goes a long way. Now that I am back in Denmark, this time for work I may have to start doing it again.

If someone from Canada emails me and they have good feedback, I'd ship to them.. but I'm just not comfortable shipping to users with old or low feedback from outside North America.

See, you're breaking your own policy.

It never hurts to ask. And it pays off to be flexible.

I'd still say no most of the time, but if they have good feedback and I'm not getting many bids, I'd say go ahead mostly hoping someone else would out bid them. But if they win it's not too big of a deal.

No offense meant supafly, but if you can't follow your own rules, why should the bidders? 😕

Because I say so 😀
It's just annoying... especially the questions about the phone itself...
