Why can't my psu handle this?

I just got a box for an htpc build and it has an earthwatts antec 380 watt psu. This is what I've installed in it:

Dual Core E2140 1.6ghz Allendale
2x1GB DDR 400 PC3200
ECS P4M800PRO-M V2.0 Motherboard
2x SATA (1 500GB, 1 400GB)
1x DVDRW/CDRW
1x IDE PATA (200GB)
GeForce 6800 (no ultra, no oc, just plain jain)
2x PVR-150 Tv tuners

absolutely NOTHING is overclocked.

according to eXtreme Power Supply Calculator I only need a 270 watt psu to run this, but when I power on, I get a click click click from the psu and it won't boot. If I disconnect either the DVDRW or the IDE, i STILL get the clicks, I have to disconnect BOTH of them in order to post. what gives? I should be well under, no? what am I doing wrong?

many thanks

never mind, it turns out in the end that the problem was that I am an idiot. the clicking was from the failed IDE drive, but man it sounded like it was coming from the psu. i put in another drive and i'm now good to go. now if I only knew what to do with that failed drive

🙁 but also 🙂
