I don't get the Jeter hype and love in NY. he isn't worth what ARod is worth, i don't care about their respective performances in the Playoffs, i'd still take ARods numbers over the course of the season than Jeters any day.
anyway the point of this thread is, Why is Mariano the only player to come out strongly in favor of Torre?

hasn't Torre earned the same amount of respect as say Jeter? you can argue that torre hasn't won anything since 2000 but then neither has Jeter, why does Jeter have more in the "bank" then Torre?
