Why can't internet browsers support temporary saves in text boxes?

How many times have you composed a comment for a post, you reach for your 4 or 5 buttoned mouse and the page disappears? Well, it just happened to me... again, and I don't bother to waste the time to write it again.

Way back when it was found that either work terminals or PCs would crash or disconnect and all that work would be lost, periodic temporary saves of one's work were written into the software. Here we are in the 21st Century and this crap still happens. But now it's those damn mouses with those useful backward and forward buttons. I type then I mouse, and while I'm reaching for the mouse I'm rereading my comment for flow and syntax errors and boom! I touch that ultra sensitive backup button and sometimes all is lost, but sometimes not. I hate posting to the sites that lose it all if that occurs.

Okey, I'm done... vent over.

eh firefox supports it but it doesnt hold it over a crash....but if you hit back or a link or whatnot and go back to that text entry form it will be there.

if youre having lots of crashes causing this to be an issue you need to fix whats causing the crashes....or start editing your stuff in a word processor that does auto saves.

I was using "crash" as an historical reference. My computer doesn't crash; that's not what I said. My complaint is with a mouse and a website that isn't mouse proof.
