I have tried to do this simple little thing, I have an EVGA 680i motherboard, q6600, and 2G OCz PC2 8500 (1066) RAM
but for some reason I can't get the ratio for RAM to processor to go 1:1, for some reason when I set it to 1:1 it goes to 1:2.
is there a reason for this? does anybody have this issue, should I just leave it at 1:2? isnt 1:1 better?

THanks

You could try running the memory unlinked in the bios and enter the memory clock. eg: say your q6600 is running @ 400x9, then try setting the memory to 800mhz in the bios while using the "unlinked" memory option. In cpuz under the memory tab it should report a 1:1 ratio. But I think that 1:2 might be a little better since you would have a little extra bandwidth but not a really noticeable performance boost apart from synthetic benchmarks.
