Why can't I stop playing cr@ppy games?

Dark Cloud for the PS2....

I bought it a couple of weeks back because the guy in the store told me it was like the Zelda titles. I took it home and thought it was a bit naff. However, I persevered thinking it would get better and either it did or I convinced myself it did so I didn't feel so bad for buying it.

Now, 25 gaming hours later I just can't stop playing it - I feel that I've spent that much time on it I may as well see it through to the end.

Anyone else find themselves playing crappy games and cannot stop or is it just me?

I have the ORIGINAL Oregon Trail on my computer (emulator of old Apple IIE game). It has crappy graphics but it fun to play
