Why can't I sleep??

I couldn't sleep at all last night. I didn't want to take sleeping aid pills because I fear of the pills side effects, which might also be addiction. I dreamed alot last night and the total real time of that dreaming lasted 2 hours when it felt like 10 hours. I don't feel tired at all and I just had a fight with my mother debating the fact that the human body can't stay up for 24 hours without at all feeling tired. Is it possible to not feel tired after a day without sleep.

1. Dreams always seem like that.

2. The weird part is that you don't feel tired. I've pulled all-nighters, but I was always completely dead by the end of the next day.

Sounds like stress to me. Sleeping in late or an odd sleep schedule could also do it.

When you go to sleep, I'd take some Ibuprofen (sp?) or Benedryl. Both will relax you and make you drowsy. Also, Valarian (sp?) root is a god herbal remedy. If none of the above work, talk to your doctor.

Regardless, if it is stress, the problem's not going to go away until the cause of the stress is gone. I know this from first-hand experience.

The really fun times are when you're tired enough to collapse but still can't get to sleep. If you've got the energy, don't worry about it.
