Why can't I share my songs on Napster?

I'm sharing all my songs and I can download just fine. When someone tries to upload from me it says "waiting" then eventually it says "timed out". I'm using Mediaone Cable and it used to upload fine until I got banned and had to re-install


btw, I'm not using Black Ice or any other firewalls

Check the port your using, I was having probs too till I switched to port 6699.

Why would you want to share? It just wastes your bandwith.

I feel kind of guilty downloading as much as I do, and not being able to share what I have.

Although after I fixed those port settings and left napster on for about 6 hours unattended, I came back to find that 50+ songs had been downloaded, damn! I don't mind the bandwith problem, I just don't like my hard drive being accessed so much, it has to be putting some serious wear and tear on it

I run Napster on port 80, because I *think* my ISP may be watching. I too have noticed the folks have some trouble pulling files from me. However, it appears that my problems are related to ZoneAlarm (even though it is established as a "server" program). I don't mind sharing, but I just don't know how to get things running just right with ZA.

In regards to Napster's default port (6699 or whatever), must both parties be on the same port to share? Again, I have no problem pulling files and others can at least see my files. Just no luck in pulling them from me.
