Why can't I see author icons, etc?

I've looked around in customize, profile, etc, (can't get help to work), but can not determine why I can't see author icons--could someone give me a little help?

Also, on rare occasion I see a column that says "viewed" (or s/t like that) next to Replies column--how can I turn this on or off?

Make sure you have it on enhanced in customize to view author icons. Dunno bout the other thing.

If I'm wrong, I know Paulson will correct me.

The "views" column can't be used here because the volume of activity is too high. Other Fusetalk boards use it, though. It's been turned on here a couple of times for a short time but as it kills the database it quickly got turned off.
