I'm trying to copy a DVD onto a tape, but its having issues.
I hooked up the DVD output (line out) to the line in of my VCR, its a multi system. The welcome screen of the dvd shows up through the VCR, it works fine. but when i play the movie, the brightness keeps changing, every minute or so the quality becomes really bad, blanks out (blue screen) and then it goes back to the movie for a couple of seconds.
i tried this on two multi system VCR's.
what could be the problem!?
all the cables are connected fine.

DVD players have protection against pirates like you, looks like it's working, eh? ;)

it's called macrovision. They have the protection. You can solve this by using a receiver something like that. I don't remember what it is called but do a search to get the device to un macro the DVD.

I think the DVD has to be encoded in macrovision for it to work. There's no way around it unless you own one of the older Apex DVD players or have a video clarifier that removes it.
