Why can't I keep a connection for over a day?

I just bought a new router cause my other one crapped out. I went from BEFSR41 ver2 to a ver 4. And every time I wake up the next morning on AIM, it'll say i've been on for 41 mins or whatever just something that isn't the same time from the previous day.


Is there a program I can use that'll read an error or something that's going wrong that I can monitor?

Do you actually lose the connection, or it just mothering you that it says 41Min.?

Depending on the setting, the Router leases the IP to the computer and it renewing I automatically, so you really do not lose any thing but the ?Number?.

Like for example when it loses the connection, AIM will disconnect, then reconnect immediately. Am I losing packets?
