why cant i install directx ??

i tried to install directx 3 times and its not working. i install it and i reboot and then i run 3dmark2001, it tells me that make sure directx is properly installed or chck if its working properly. i tried going to windows add and remove programs but i dont see it there. where do i go? should i go to the registery and started deleting anything related to directx and reinstall it again?

It's probably your video drivers not compatible with the DirectX version that you've installed. Upgrade your video card drivers and try again.

Also, don't overclock anything if you're having problems.
 
Also best to make sure you `ve latest sound card drivers and best to disable anti-virus before install of DirectX/video/sound files.
