Why cant I install different Video card?

I have a BH6 with Celeron 300A and 98Mb SDRAM,

Currently I have a Viper V550 16Mb installed and all works fine.

i then remove the card and Install a G200 8Mb SGRAM and reboot. The computer boots and the speaker does 1 long beep and then 3 short beeps, and then nothing happens after that.

If some one has a solution or a reason to whats happening Id love to hear.

First off, are both the cards agp? Or pci for that matter? If not, you will need to go into bios and tell bios what to look for first,ie; agp or pci. Secondly, if thats not the issue, have you changed your video to Standard VGA in windows before shutting down to change cards? Last but not least, have you removed all aspects of your previous video card drivers, before installing the new card???? Post reply to get more help if needed.🙂

Good advice from Biglar, it's VERY important to remove the remnants completely from the old card. Also are you sure the G200 is functioning? 3 beeps usually means a card problem.

Make sure the card is correctly seated in the slot. It sounds more like a hardware problem than a software one.
