Windows XP

MAIN
(Connects directly to the internet)
Netgear FA311
Netgear FA310

SHER
(Connects to the internet through another computer)
Linkysys LNE100TX WOL

25ft Crossover Network Cable

I've tried the create home network wizard on both comps. Both say they successfully completed network and needed a restart. After the restart they can't see each other, and when MAIN tries to access SHER documents it says "access denied you don't have permission to..." or something like that.

I was able to network these two last summer, but now --> :(

Anyone have any tips on how to make them see each other on the network?

Nevermind I got SHER to see MAIN. Thats good enough for me. Just needed access to files.

But it still can't get MAIN to see SHER.

Well what OS's are these computer running?

If it is win 2k or XP, then I suggest enabling the guest account. You can do this by going to user account under the control panel. Make sure the computers are on the same workgroup and have different IP addys.

from what I can see the network wizard is worthless...try the guest account , and check your setting as Utterman said.
