Why can't I get my ISP password to save so I don't have to enter it each time?

When the box pops up that asks for my username and password I have to enter my password everytime.

I do "X" the box that says "Save Password" but it doesn't save.

Is it some type of caching problem?

Thanks, rnmcd

Are you running Win98? If so, do you enter a password when it boots up, or do you just hit "Cancel?"

When I used to run Win98, it refused to save my ISP password and connect automatically until I entered a password at boot time.

Entering the password at boot time was also an annoyance, so I used TweakAll to get the password entered automatically. TweakUI should also do this.

Thanks thirdkind.

I do choose "Cancel" when I log into Win98SE.

Does anyone have any additional suggestions besides installing TweakAll?

In Windows 95 you must have Microsoft Client for Networks installed in your dial up networking before the password will be saved. In Control Panel, click on network and see if it is there. If not add it, and the next time you enter your password, you will be asked if you want to save your password. Click in the box and you will not be asked again.
