so I am graduating in the fall with a bachelors of arts, major in Information Systems from Seattle University. I looked at monster, and a couple other sites.

there are no entry level positions anywhere for college grads. I am getting worried. how and where do I look for a job?

any advice?

i would advise looking somewhere else.
something like 52% of the population of seattle has at least a bachelor's degree.

Find a list of all universities and colleges in your area, go to their HR websites and look through their open positions. Lot of times, these universities don't use any other method of advertisement but their HR website, which means less competition for you.

Keep an open mind. If you can't find a job in your field don't hesitate to look elsewhere. Do something to make money for awhile and make yourself more marketable at the sametime.

Call up companies and ask to speak to their human resources department, or just walk in and try to schedule an interview. Doesn't matter if they publicly post a job listing or not.

I have worked in it but just minor tech support and stuff.

don't really have any ceritifactions or programming experience under my belt.

Where to look is school, so that you can get more education, or one that is more applicable. I hope it's not new news to you that entry level grads in IT have a crappy job market right now. Not crappy. Horrifying. You can't find any entry level jobs because there are almost no entry level jobs.

In the old days, the people follow the herds. Go where the food is.

Applying the concept to today's world, you will need to move to India.

Well you should bust your ass and get certs and things of that nature in the meantime. You need to make sure you take it very seriously, because you could very well be complaining at the end of 2005 about your one year anniversary working in the coffee shop otherwise.

Have a look at my thread here.

Also, my advice, do not seek certs like MCSE or CCNA unless you have an employer that will pay for them, or at least garrentee employment if you obtain them. If you like networking and sub-netting more specifically, you can go for higher up Cisco certs..
