Why can't I figure out my actual RAM speed?

I'm playing with my setup, and I tried an 8*300, 7:10 mem divider. Memtest86 thinks my RAM is running @ 300. It's not, because it only goes up to ~217 and I wasn't getting any errors. cpuz just has the memory frequency grayed out.
What's up? Should I worry about it? I haven't done more than ~20 minutes of Prime with these settings (so I may give up on them anyway), but I've been using it for hours with no trouble.

try everest home edition
rightmark memory analyzer
central brain identifie

dont know why its nit reporting your speed. thats strange. but if it passes prime, your ok.

Thanks for the recommendations, theman.
EDIT: Hey, this gets better and better! Rightmark doesn't give me my clockspeed either, AND it thinks I've got 2048 megs of memory!

maybe you need to update your version of CPU-Z , what version are you running? 1.29 is the latest.

I've got 1.28.6. But, as I've also said, it's not just CPU-Z giving me funny numbers (or no numbers). It's also MemTest86 and Rightmark Memory Analyzer

Why don't u try another set of RAM, maybe from ur friend's PC ? U will be able to know if it's the RAM or the memory controller in the CPU which is causing the trouble.

It's the strange settings causing difficulty, not the RAM. I've tested (and run at) several other settings, and this is the first time it's happened.

*bump*
Also, I noticed while running 3DMark05 that it reports RAM speed as 0. LOL.

Anyway, anybody have a clue?

And I'm still hoping somebody can talk to me.....
*sigh*
Guess I'll need to go register @ dfi-street.

no its the 7:10 divider with the dfi board, nothing i have can read the memory at the correct speed but everest v2 (ultimate), the divider is working though
