Why can't I edit this image in Dreamweaver?

I'm trying to fix an image on a buddy of mines website, so i downloaded the page i needed (its php) and when i open it in dreamweaver for some reason i cant edit anything, its as if its locked? (i get the no smoking sign cursor except with no cig behind it...) wtf?? :confused: :| :eek:

I think Dreamweaver has a proprietary locking mechanism for files saved and opened within it. I don't use Dreamweaver so I don't know how it works, it may be a simple HTML tag hidden somewhere, or it might stick a data header somewhere before the <html> tag which would not show up in a text editor, regardless of the fact this might prevent validation.

Have you simply tried opening it in a text editor? I can't see why that wouldn't work.
