Why can't I connect to my ftp server?

running warftpd on a win2k machine. If I try to connect from the local machine, it works fine. If I connect from my machine at school, it hangs up and eventually times out. If I try to connect to the improper port, it just refuses me, as you would expect. I have a webserver running just fine on the same machine.

Any ideas about the time out during connection?

Nope, it's definitely an issue on the servers end of things....

Even a firewall that is set to allow FTP may stop some connections. Just opening port 21 allows only passive (no active) connections.


You should also check and see whether your system is set to allow connections from non-local addresses.
