why can't I access network files?!

No Lifer
So I just got a 2nd Dell computer.

2 computers on a network through a Linksys BEFSR41. Computers are named Dell1 and Dell2, on a workgroup called ASDF.

File and print sharing is on for both computers with windows firewall supposedly configured for these settings. I can ping Dell1 from Dell2, but I can't access network files. WTF am I forgetting?

a) disable windows firewall see if that helps. (you can always turn it back on later)
b) did you remember to right click the folders (or drives) you want to share and configure the sharing tab? 🙂

Thanks for the help guys. disabled windows firewall and removed everything that started with NORTON from the computer and all is well now.
