why can't dell just admit that the computer is being shipped from malaysia?

It's not being shipped from Malyasia....

They don't store any parts in their wearhouse. They have trucks that backup to the doors with parts, HD's, memory, CPU, etc.

When they get an order, they take a part off the truck.....

It keeps their overhead very low.

So be patient and shut up, I waited 1 month for my XPS GEN 2 laptop

their laptops are built in malaysia. at least, many of them are. i bet the bottom of your xps says it was made in malaysia. the boxing phase is their euphemism for shipping it across the pacific. i thought this was common knowledge.

So by the time you got it, it was obsolete and outdated?

Not to mention he could have gotten it cheaper by the time it arrived.

laptops are shipped from malaysia as barebones systems, insert cpu, ram, vid card, hd & optical drive. all done

I have never ordered a Dell, although I was quite tempted when they had 2 computers for $350 shipped.

I think the laptops are prebuilt and shipped in Malaysia. But desktops? I'm not too sure.

I work a few blocks away from Dell Malaysia anyway. Doesn't seem to have a large warehouse of goods in there. At least from where I drive through everyday. 😀
