Why can't all games just use the same Mouse Sensitivity meter?

It's hard to play more than one FPS competitively (for fun, but still competitive) because it's hard to match the mouse sensitivity from game to game. Like i play Quake, and my sensitivity is like 8, but in CS it's 12.7, i try and get it close as i can to match the mouse sens of all the games i play, but it's real hard to dictate just by turning around in the game. After playing CS and going to quake, i'm all thrown off because of the sensitivity difference, and same when i go from Quake to CS. Why don't all games just have the same sensitivity system? =/ - That way it would be much easier. Is there a better way to determine matching sensitivity levels for different FPS games? You know what i mean. I want to have the same mouse sensitivity in every game i play. Doesn't everyone?

somewhat, but there should be a way to at least make it feel very close to the same with most FPS games.

that wouldn't work.

If you adjusted sensitivity in one game it would screw up another. You then jump to that game, fix it and break the first.

Bad idea.

Generally what I do is calibrate the mouse to myself in each game. There is a particularly well practiced 180 spin that I do. I have the motion memorized so each new game I'll find a hallway, run down it, flip 180 and should be facing the other way. I'll keep the spin move the same and then tweak sensitivity until it produces the expected result. Best way to find consistency that I've found.

I've thought of that too. It'd be nice to have similar guages of how the sensitivity is produced.

But every game is different, so good luck with that. :p

12 on CS! Holy Hell! I'm at 3.5. you probably don't even need to move your mouse...sheesh.
