Why can't aftermarket parts work properly all the time...man.

I should have waited for the DC Sports header even though it's only ceramic coated mild steel....

picked up an OBX for my car which is a direct copy of the now defunct Hotshot company.

fit and finish is actually surprisingly great EXCEPT it needs to be clearanced about 1/4" where the steering knuckle is.

Fortunately (and unfortunately) my car will be in the shop tomorrow so they can replace an exhaust stud that broke removing it. I will have them do it then.

sucks.

not much cheaper. 2/3 the price. Most have had very good luck with it. Just that obviously not everyone. DC has also sent some people a header that wasn't dead on.

Lesson learned for buying car parts. Never skimp out (My DC Headers were spot on, replica lip was a POS to get to fit right). What car is this for?

I didn't skimp out...it was the only thing available.

It's for a 1998 240SX.

Oh sorry, read the original post wrong. Still, I've seen and experienced a lot of cases where a cheap part wouldn't fit or would fail (ie. cracked headers, modifications to get intake to fit. Just a lot of unnecessary headaches). The oem SiR lip for the civic is rare and very expensive nowadays, so I just bought the cheaper replica which one company made. Fit is about 80% and modifications + time it took to make it fit weren't worth it. If I were to do it again, I'd just shell out the extra 80 bucks to get the real deal which would mount onto the original spots instead of putting a holes in my bumper.

There is a reason why OBX is so cheap. They usually have fitment issues.
