Why can?t we have one good scientific discussion in ATOT?

Any thread about a scientific discovery is automatically greeted by troll responses, quite sad for people that want to seriously discuss the discovery.

because any thread on here will be greeted by trolls, doesn't matter what it is, there will always be at least one thread crasher. its like the law of ATOT or something.

There is no true science anymore because very few people can refrain from interjecting their personal beliefs and feelings into science. Gone are the days of doing an experiment, assessing the results, and formulating your opinion from your observances. Classical scientific theory has been replaced with agenda based science where people do experiments trying to prove or at least support their preformed opinion. I realize that there has always been some level of this type of behavior in science but it gets worse and worse as time goes on.

You can't have a good discussion amongst the general population because so many of them are religious zealots. These kinds of discussions are better left to those who do them best - scientists.

People here are, generally, far too intellectual insecure and close-minded to make their opinions vulnerable to actual scrutiny. The few who aren't don't feel like dealing the idiotic responses of the others and/or are ignored.

I think we can have a discussion but as it has been mentioned earlier, the trolls will start coming through the door. The scientific method still exists in its present form although I would love for it to have been unchanged since the 19th century.
