Why can I not unlock this Duron?

I've unlocked a couple of 1GHz Durons before without any problems. This one was a little different though. I think it has an extra L1 trace. I thought they used to only have 4 traces. this one has 5. Sometimes it boots up at 800MHz and sometimes at 1100MHz before I even change the multiplier. What gives? I've tried the defroster paint and conductive grease.
