 okay, so considering that anyone can get a 100mhz fsb athlon running at 133+ easily, what's the point in waiting/shelling out for one of the new 133fsb parts? are they better in any way, besides being 'certified' to run at the said fsb? i'm not getting it...

you have to keep in mind that over 90% of sales is done through oems like compaq. They don't overclock in anyway so therefore that gives a whole lot more performance to the people that buy those systems. As for people in our situation, it may provide a concienience for those who don't want to or feel comfertable connecting the l1 bridges to get that performance. Physically i believe the chips are the same with the exception of the multiplier and FSB being different, so for people who are in the know and don't mind tweaking their computers than the older ones should work just fine. But this alteration is for the majority of users who don't know the difference.

There is no guarantee that all Athlons set to run at 100fsb will run at 133 either. Especially the early ones.If the premium for this is small enough, a lot of people will be buying them.

Also, if there was no 133 part, we wouldn't have the 133 motherboards to oc our 100's on!
