Why Bush?
For the WMD's of course, why else? Have you not been watching the news? Iraq was an immenent threat to the US, better them than us. Besides, we liberated them, so what if these people got hurt? We still killed fewer than Saddam would have, so it is justifiable. Don't argue with us, did you not see the amazing job we did in Afghanistan? Very soon Iraq will have its own leader, like Hamid Karzai, President of Kabul.

I'm pretty sure the kids and women weren't engaged in heavy combat against our forces. Even if they were army, keep in mind that many were forced conscripts whose family's were threatened if they did not fight. Either way, there is no disputing the level of civilian carnage of this war. The conservative estimate is 6000, and that's only including the civilians they can prove were killed, the reality is certainly much, much worse. Personally, I think those who were killed were the lucky ones. It's the ones who survived, like the people in the pics, who have a lifetime of suffering to look forward too.

I guess those severed children would say: 'Bush, you are our saviour! Freedom has never felt so good!'

Were these people intentionally wounded?

These people were. I'm not in favor of war, but I am in favor of stopping someone that intentionally wounds innocents.

It would be no consolation to me if one of my family members were wounded in under circumstances similar to the civilians hurt by the fighting to oust Saddam, but standing on the outside looking in I can see the difference between the intent to hurt people and the intent to stop people from being hurt.

No matter why you enter a country, once you are aware of intentional torture, can you leave? Look at the demands being made on the US to step into Liberia. What kind of outcry would there have been if Bush decided to pull out after knowing of the torture, but because there were no signs of WMD?

It was a lose-lose situation from that standpoint, but if I were Bush or any of the soldiers involved I would personally feel good about stopping a madman from intentionally inflicting horrific pain on innocent people.

There were many corroborated reports of women either on their own choosing or thru forced action, take up arms against our military. The children, who knows. I read of some pretty young'uns fighting.
