Question Why Build a New One?

I work on an I5 machine I built nearly 10 yrs ago, since upgraded with 16 gigs RAM and an SSD. I watch stock charts most of the day (on 42" and 21" screens), which run fine on a low end video card, and surf a lot to pass the time...no gaming at all. So while I'd like to build a current speedier machine I stop at wondering how much benefit it would actually be. The main slowdown with surfing seems to be the latency of websites, and charts seem to run OK, so how much is there to gain in this scenario by spending a thousand bucks to put together a nice "today" machine? Talk me into it or not, any thoughts appreciated.

For what you mentioned, if it works don't fix it.

If that cash is burning a hole in your pocket an upgrade provides more speed for apps and you could go lower end and save on power.

Or you could go portable and use a USB dock for your multi monitor setup.
