why bash on christians so much?

is there any reason in particular why atheists feel the need to bash on christians? i've never seen one of these attacks on islam.
 
Christians are the majority in the US so they are the likely target. Perhaps where muslims are the majority they are the target.. nevermind I know what they do to people who attack Islam in those countries.

Where do you find Athiests "bashing" on christians? The most I see is Athiests attempting to show that not everybody believes in story books...
 
I'm very live and let live. That attitude only changes when people use their religion as a excuse to do things any normal rational human would find abhorrent.

Because islam people don't try to convert you. The just blow you up. I'd rather be blown up.
 
Mostly because of all the bashing I get for being atheist. I never start an argument, but I have no problem bashing beliefs if somebody argues with me about mine.

I get along with Christians just fine (my girlfriend is Christian), but it really pisses me off when a Christian person starts telling me about how terrible I am, how I'm going to hell, etc.

Boom you just bashed on Christians right there. Maybe you just aren't realizing it, but I'm leaning towards intentional insulting.

Happens consistently on a daily basis on this forum, even in threads that have nothing to do with religion. It's ridiculous.
 
Because they think they have it all figured out....

they = everyone including Christians and atheists.

Cripes, just let people believe what they want. If you do not agree, keep your mouth shut and move along.

Atheists attack islam a lot. Just read the shit Christopher Hitchens has written about contemporary islam. But, muslims are a very tiny minority in the US. They are not a threat to our civil liberties, at all. The christians want to legislate morality and have big enough organizations that they can actually enact legislation.

Unfortunately, there is no way to state a belief counter to Christianity without insulting it.

"I do not believe in god" - revolting, heretical, etc
"It's a book of stories" - insulting, blah blah blah


When you disagree with someone's core belief they will be insulted when you tell them your wrong. The only way to not insult them is to not say anything. However, they will never see what they are doing as being insulting, so why bother trying to be polite yourself.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if I offend someone when I state my beliefs. You don't want to hear what I have to say and I offend you, well them I suggest you use the block function.

God is no different than homeopathy.

Those that do bash Christians do so, so they don't have to examine how illogical and hypocritical their own belief system is that's based on fad morality and cultural bias.

Saying you don't believe in God is not insulting whatsoever. You are stating your belief. Saying you don't believe the bible is true is also ok. Calling it a story book or book of faerie tales like so many do is making it an insult.
