I finally got a new V6800 Deluxe in the mail yesterday after a 3 months of problems with ASUS. I RMAed my card back at the beginning of Aug. It took them almost a month and a half to get me a replacement. Guess what. The replacement was DOA. I got a scrambled display. So I call them back up, and they make me spend a half hour on the phone (long distance) with tech support and then finally send me back to the RMA Dept. They said if you UPS three day it to us well overnight it as soon as we get it. So I drop 16 bucks at Mail Boxes Etc. to ship it 3 day (from Florida to California) and two weeks go by, no card. So I call them again, and get transferred around only to find out it hasn't been keyed into their system yet. So I call Mail Boxes Etc.and get the tracking number. Turns out it was delivered on time about a week and half ago. So I call them back up and give them the tracking number, and they say well I guess we did get it. So after another two phone calls and a call back from them I got my card overnighted to me. And this one works, sort of. Since ASUS has really crappy drivers for Win2k, that lockup my computer at random (v3.79, v5.33, and v6.18) I have to use the NVIDIA Ref. drivers which would be OK but silly me, I like to use all the features built into my card like the VR glasses and the video In/Out. I can't do all that with the Ref. drivers. ASUS get your act together. I will NEVER purchase another ASUS product again. NEVER!!!

thats too bad.

You should really have spent more time writing this rant to the customer service department, then sent them a link to this thread and mention the fact that until you recieve satisfaction, you will continue to post this thread on every message board that you can get your hands on...

After that call the customer service, ask to speak with a supervisor, CALMLY explain your situation, making it clear that you are not going to settle for anything other than immediate attention to this problem, and then if they dont do as you ask continue with your rants...

Also, plead for people to reply to this thread as it will make ASUS notice that this is very bad PR and they will probably do something.

I have a v6800 and I like it very much. I have bought many products from ASUS and never had a problem, but I take this warning from you very seriously...

I will think about this next time I go to purchase another peice of hardware...maybe my next mobo will be an abit because of this thread...too bad for asus!

See, if you bought a retail product, just goto the same store, but it switch card and return it.. work for me... broken hdds. etc.

Thats how I deal with company that won't take their return...

I have used the Asus 3.79, 5.33 and nVidia 6.18 in WIN2K with no problems. Maybe it's not just the video card. Have you tried a different GeForce or another type of card altogether, e.g. Voodoo? Does your PC lockup no matter what you're doing? DirectX? OpenGL? Video capture? Sorry you've had this much trouble, I switched my CLAP for an AsusV6800 DDR Deluxe and have had no problems.

Well, that situation really sucks, but one bad experience doesn't mean they are all bad. Slightly different situation, but I had a pair of American DJ DJ headphones, every pair I got was bad when I got it or died soon after, but that didn't stop me from getting an American DJ dual CD player, which is still working flawlessly.

I'll admit. that sucks. But do you think Asus, a multi-million dollar company gives a crap about 1 person? Yeah it sucks, but thats how this crap works.

All companies are good until you have to return something.

ABIT really sucks and so does SHUTTLE(Spacewalker).

The question is, why return it directly to Asus?
Like someone said, they dont care about 1 person, just contact the place where you bought it and let them handle the process with Asus, or whatever company, thats the way it should be done anyway.
