Because I don't need more performance than a single 7800gt. Becuase my 7800gt runs BF2 at 1280x1024 with all settings high just fine. Because my 7800gt was ~$300 instead of ~$500.

git.

how in the hell is a 7800GTX 512meg a better investment then the X1900XT? The only way i can ever see the 7800GTX 512 version being better a better investment then a x1900xt is if u have a SLI BOARD and u intend on upgrading to SLI. But even then, there are countless reviews on the x1900XT spanking.. and YES i seriously mean SPANKING a 7800GTX.

The only real investment would be getting a hella cheap 7800GT in SLI with 2 19 inch monitors. Because there is no way in hell u would ever go 1600x1200 + resolution. And at 1280x1024 resolution, the 1900XT and the 7800GT's performance would be bearly noticible.

Anyhow, if you have the monitor for this beefy card, then a 1900XT is a way better investment then a overpriced 7800GTX 512meg.

Also, id wait and check out the dual gpu 7900's that are going to come out soon. there is no way a x-fire x1900xt will be able to topple a quad SLI 7900GTX.

>.< yeah yeah.. i actually feel for it.. but with people still insisting that the 7800GTX 512meg is better then x1900xt who could tell :X

Personally i am a nvidia whore. I love nvidia, over ATI, and like i said above, unless ur running a CRT or a LCD monitor bigger then 20inch with resolution higher then 1600x1200, a 7800GT will seem just as fast as a x1900xt. :D I still want to wait and see the quad SLI setups of the 7900GTX's, i might then actually concider getting a "high end" video card. :X

Sorry. I was just trying to fill in Rollo's shoes. It's not the same without that old bastard.

I don't have PCIe available in my desktop at the moment. If I did, I probably would have bought the X1900 already.

Or, depending on the time frame I moved up to PCIe, I may have saw the disappointing X1800 line and went with the 7800 GTX, then kicked myself when the X1900XT arrived. :p

because Ati sucks? because it takes them years to mature thier drivers which always have lot's of bugs? because Nvidia is better? take your pick...
