Why aren't there more Bluetooth mice?

I'm trying to buy a bluetooth mouse for my laptop, but almost no store has em.

Most of the ones available are from obscure companies without tilt wheel.

Are they a dud?

I have a logitech BT mouse and keyboard ( mx5000 i think, not at home so not sure ), and I can tell you they are NOT worth it. The mouse gets interferance from my wireless lan and cause all kinds of lag in the mouse movement.

Bluetooth is a dud technology overall for me. I have never ever had success in synching two bluetooth devices and i'm plenty savvy enough to do it. I follow tutorials, etc. to a T and i have never had success. Any bluetooth device is a dud imho...

There really is no good reason to have a Bluetooth mouse. RF interference is possible - and you are never gpoing to operate a laptop from a distance of more than arms length. Regular wireless can do that - Bluetooth brings nothing to the party.

I only wanted to get a bluetooth mouse since the bluetooth card is integrated and theres no reason for a USB doggle hanging out.

But it seems like a dud technology.

This might be veering off the topic a bit, but i use a bluetooth headset with my cell phone and i love it. Works great, have no problems syncing, sound quality is good. And this is with one that came free with the phone. I've also managed to set it up to act as a headset for my PC and that seemed to work well as well.

for a mouth though...dunno. Never used a BT mouse. Going by the headset though i would have thought it worked better. I do use a wireless RF mouse and that works just fine except when my friend is sitting next to me on his laptop connected to the wireless. If he starts downloading something the RF between laptop and wireless router messed up my mouse. But for normal web usage there's no problem.
