They have low body fat and can't float.

hmm if they have to worry about floating there is something wrong with the rink..

i think he's trying to say if blacks were playing hockey the whites would make the ice thin so they'd fall in

still won't matter. The rink is only what 8 inches deep?

I believe it's more like 3-5".

But there'd be miniature sharks in the water. With miniature laser beams on their friggin heads.

Scott? Is that you?

If you look at it from an evolutionary prospective... black people have long arms, long legs, and a small torso to dissapate heat. White people generally have the opposite. In short, white people are better acclimated to the cold for hockey. There's also the cultural reasons (expensive equipment, no access to skating).

Also, because there are weren't many black players in hockey in the past, the younger generations of black kids had no black role models to aspire to.
No black hockey players, no urge to compete in hockey from the younger generation

Though I'm surprised there aren't more pro- bowlers(not the football kind). I mean, they get a huge black ball that they use to knock down a bunch of white red-necked pins.

that was hilarious

Most NHL players come from Canada(60ish%) where the Black population is smaller than the US(both in real numbers and as % of population), IIRC US players make approx 20%, and the rest are from Europe(mostly Northern Europe where Black populations are practically non-existent). I think that along with Expense, lack of access to rinks in the US Inner-Cities, and the lack of popularity of Hockey in the US all contributes to the low amount of Blacks in the NHL.

That said, in the future I suspect to see more, but they'll likely be Canadians. Also expect an increase in Chinese/Asians, Indian/Asians, and even those with Middle Eastern descent in the future. It will reflect the changing demographic of the Canadian Population.

culture doesnt appear to hockey. not many blacks in canada. not many places to skate in cities. its expensive. its played by a bunch of whities

In high school, I had a black history teacher and he said the reason you don't see a lot of black hockey players is because the only thing that's black in hockey is the puck and it gets slapped around all the time. 😀

BOO!😉

I don't know about that, there are definitely more US-based NHL teams, and I'm sure more American players than Canadians.

Most of those US Teams are struggling to survive. Canadian players certainly dominate at the NHL level.

Thats because of over expansion. The NHL was stupid to expand as fast as it did.

The Strike didn't help any either.
