Why aren't there more 6-cyl CTS coupes with the 6-spd manual?

I did a search on autotrader and found one in the whole US. Guess I'm going to have to order one if I really want one.
 
I rode in a CTS coupe on Friday. That was an interesting vehicle. We had 4 people in it, and the back seat was pretty much 6 inches lacking in height for the 2 normal height people in the back.

I think the type interested in a manual cadillac are the type that would buy the V.

because most people buying liek $50k cars dont want to drive a manual luxury car.

like wouldn't call myself good at driving stick becuase well i havent driven stick that many times, but i love it. that said, i live in LA and i would kill myself on my regular commute if I had to every day.
 
Wimp. Commuting with a stick is no big deal....people just make a big stink about it. More realistically, people would rather eat/apply makeup/drink coffee/read the paper/text while driving vs shifting gears.

I gave up driving stick 2-months ago- 45 miles on 880 each morning will change your opinion. It sucks the life out of you when it takes 1.5hrs to get to work.

my commute home is 5 miles and can take 45 minutes when its bad. it isnt worth it, and if you live here you know its not.

if i had a place to park 2 cars, i'd get a 2nd manual car , but yes i will admit i'm not an enthusiast enough to deal with it so yes i'm a wimp
 
I grew up in Marina Del Rey, went to college in Pomona/Long Beach, work in El Segundo and now live the San Fernando Valley. I've had a long commute ever since I graduated high school. I know all about traffic.

But, that's why there's choices out there 🙂

i used to live up there until last year. that is not nearly as bad as the mess in LA.

granted i suppose it depends on the car. a coworker of mine moved here from north carolina and brought his 2012 mustang GT with him that he had owned for all of3 months.

he says the engine is so big and has so much torque he just leaves it in 3rd the whole way and it never stalls so its not so bad.

jesus. like you have every right to call me a wimp. i've had coworkers who lived in the valley and i currently work in santa monica (i grew up in torrance, went to ucla... so its not like i didnt know what is going on). and most of them ride bikes.

one guy at work, bought a prius just to commute from cerritos to santa monica for the stickers, then once those expired, sold it and now rides a motorcycle as well.

Because it's a GM product. GM is the worst at providing a decent quantity of manual transmissions in anything.

I remember in '93 when my Dad was purchasing a new Z28. He had to order one with the 6-speed, as none of the dealerships in Jacksonville would be getting one that way.

And in 2000 I wanted a pickup with a V6 and a 5-speed. The Chevy dealer had no S10's that way. I went across the street to the Ford dealer, and only had to decide on a color.
 
Simple answer is they won't sell. They would sit on the dealer's lot forever. I wouldn't even buy the CTS-V as a manual, as regardless of it's performance it's still a luxury sedan/coupe, not a sportscar. I imagine that unless you got wildly lucky finding a buyer looking for specifically that, the resell value would take a hell of a beating as well. I wouldn't want a manual CTS just as I wouldn't want an automatic Corvette.

My 05 civic was the first automatic I've ever owned. All my cars before were stick including my very first car, a '71 Ford Maverik with a big block V8.

I'll take a stick for a weekend/track car and leave my DD as an automatic.

You're making a generalization that is obviously not always the case.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh there 😛

All I know was after a long day, falling into the cruise control, AC, automatic car for the drive home was quite pleasant in comparison.

SF makes you think almost anything is not out of the ordinary. Its a special place.

I had a topless lesbian with nothing on but bead necklaces hump the door of my car once when I got lost sometime around pride week. no this was not anything you wanted to actaully see or ever happen to you
