Why arent there 700mb cd-rws?

there are 700mb cd-rs but why not 700mb cd-rws? what's the limitation? hmm.. after browsing a bit, i did find that tdk has 700mb cd-rw, but most are only 650. strange. they (700mb cd-rw) probably cost more than regular 650 mb cd-rws. why do most manufacturers have 650mb?

but many manufacturers DO HAVE 700mb CDRW's!!!

most memorex CDRW's are 700mb. maybe 700mb causes more errors when burned, since my ultra-scratched up phillips with 650mb never failed a burn no matter what drive i burn it in

wow, i didn't even know that. all i see in staples, officemax are 650 i haven't shopped around for cdrws in a long time but i've seen mostly 650..

I've been using Memorex 700mb 80min. discs 16x-40x *hot deals* for a long time and never burned coasters that weren't my fault and even then just a couple.

I have some "Nashua" 700Mb cdrw's that i have been saving for a while for a time where i actually need to be able to re-write a disk.

40x CDRWs, huh? Methinks you misread.

But yeah, I have a five-pack of Memorex 700MB CDRWs. Seem to work just fine.

I bought a 5 pack of Pengo 12x 700MB cdrws a few years ago. They were difficult to find.

I have a bunch of those Memorex 700MB 24X CDRW also. I think a similar product is available with the Verbatim brand but they seem to be mostly limited to Europe. Dartek had the lowest price when I purchased them awhile back (the price range on pricegrabber was crazy big).
