Why aren't the Cardinals all-in on Fielder?

I guess signing Beltran ends that line of thinking, but after they lost Pujols it would seem to make sense to go for it. The Cards could offer Fielder a similar contract, with less years, and you're set at 1st base for a long time (again).

Is it the "bad body type" thing?
